Mission

The Hooked On Red Fish Project is the large steel sculpture located outside of our building. The large steel sculpture has the appearance of jumping out of water. Recycled plastic bottles in wired cages, surrounding the sculpture represent pollution an illustrate the danger of plastics to aquatic life in the Great Lakes. The elevated sculpture and bright cadmium red color is recognizable from all angles and attracts attention from passing motorists without obstructing the view of Lake Erie.

Who Created It

The Hooked On Red Fish sculpture was created by Ellen Steinfield. Ellen Steinfield is a sculptor and a painter whose work in various media is located throughout North America. She has been chosen by juries to create artwork for the Roswell Park Cancer Institute, the Niagara Falls National Heritage Area, the Buffalo JCC, Upstate Cancer Center in Syracuse and numerous other locations. Her work is in the permanent collections of the Albright-Knox Art Gallery, the Castellani Museum, the Burchfield-Penney Museum and many others.
